The sickly, off-white glow of fluorescence. Sterile machinery, uniformed orderlies...

Tubes inserted in uncomfortable places... when did I last have a real conversation?

Koooh, kaaah.

As I crush the former general's throat with a finger motion, I think, "It's not easy being Lord of the Sith."

His eyes rose to hers in desperate hope.

"Star Trek?" he asked.

She sighed and shook her head for the hundredth time.

"Star Wars," she replied.

He tried again: "Beatles?"

Again: "Rolling Stones."

"Chocolate?"

"Vanilla... This will never work," she said. "Unless... Marvel or DC?"

Anticipating rejection, he winced. Hesitantly: "Dark Horse?"

For the first time that morning, she smiled.
